A loyal fighter to a military commander in Goryeo Dynasty, An aristocratic playboy in Sungkyunkwan, has been a victim of murder in The Case of Itaewon Homicide, a guy who is willing to sacrifice anything for the love of his life and labeled as the Innocent Man –Song Jung Ki now faces a new role as he enlist himself to serve for the army.

Jung Ki's shot from TV series "Sungkyunkwan Scandal"
Song Jung Ki is a 28 year old full blooded Korean –one of the fast rising Korean actors in his generation. He was born on September 19, 1985 and from a well-off family.

Before he decided to enter the entertainment industry way back in high school, Jung Ki competes for a high level short track speed skating representing his hometown, the city of Daejeon and even won three times when he joined for the National games however, he had to stop when he had a serious injury. Jung Ki then turned his attention to improve his studies which made him receive the highest grades for all his subjects.

Having scored 380 points out of 400 on his national college entrance examination, Jung Ki entered the prestigious Sungkyunkwan University. Because of his shy personality, his parents sent him to a variety of classes, including acting classes, to improve his social skills.

During his sophomore year in college, Jung Ki's excellent academic record as a business administration major took a dip when he finally decided to pursue acting seriously.

He made his television debut as a contestant on KBS's Quiz Korea, making it all the way to the finals but didn’t win.

Song Jung Ki made his first acting debut in the 2008 film A Frozen Flower, and then the following year; he appeared in the couple-swapping segment "Believe in the Moment" of omnibus Five Senses of Eros and continued to take on small but notable roles in Triple, a national speed skater TV series.

Jung Ki’s talent was not just about crying in front of the screens, he also has a talent in hosting that he became a regular host of KBS Friday music program such as the K-Pop chart show, Music Bank in 2009, the Melon Music Awards and a cast member on SBS variety show Running Man from 2010 to 2011.

He then appeared in the 2010 medical drama Obstetrics and Gynecologists Doctors, and animal movie sequel Hearty Paws 2. But many became familiar with Song Jung Ki through the highly popular historical drama, Sungkyunkwan Scandal, in which he played an aristocratic playboy. His character’s trademark line, “I’m Gu Yong Ha”, became a trendy catchphrase and the Gu Yong Ha effect swept across the nation as female fans fell victim to his frivolous charm that made Jung Ki shoot to stardom along with the rest of the young casts.

Song Jung Ki’s flawless skin and milky white complexion was always admired by men and women so he revealed his secrets of keeping his skin and face healthy by a book entitled ‘Beauty Guy Project’, a book of male facial grooming tips published in 2010.

The book was well-received not only in South Korea, but also in Taiwan, Japan and China. So, what is Song Joong Ki’s secret to great skin? No, there’s no need for expensive creams or weekly trips to the spa. For him, it’s as simple as staying away from cigarettes.

With delicate features pretty enough to be compared to any beauty queen, it’s no wonder that rising actor Song Joong Ki has been dubbed South Korea’s representative Flower Pretty Boy (“Gotminam”).

In 2011, he performed as a jobless deadbeat in the romantic comedy Penny Pinchers; a film review described by Jung Ki as going seamlessly from slapstick comedy to a "charismatic", "swoon-worthy leading man with a viable presence.

2012 was a “remarkable year” for Song Jung Ki. He played the titular character in the fantasy romance thriller “A werewolf Boy”, the film became the most successful Korean melodrama of all time with more than 7 million tickets sold and recently aired The Innocent Man, a television series and he’s first ever leading role. The Innocent Man attracted high ratings and critical acclaim, which along with the impressive box office runs of A Werewolf Boy, cemented Song Jung Ki's image in the press as the "savior" of the melodrama genre both on the big and small screen.

Song Jung Ki has proven himself to his fans and family that he is more than just a pretty face.

The Day of  Song Jung Ki's Enlistment Aug-27-2013

Song Jung Ki has tried being a warrior, an aristocratic playboy, a werewolf, a butler, a martyr love-struck medical student and with his new role, he took the challenge to protect his country by enlisting to the army.

Appearing with his hair newly cropped, in accordance with military regulation, Jung Ki showed up at the military station an hour early to bid a final goodbye to his fans before starting his 21-month mandatory enlistment.

Jung Ki’s decision to fulfill his responsibility to Mandatory Service for army gained different reactions from his fans and supporters. Many of his Fan girls got their heart broken when the news of his enlistment spread out on the internet "medyo malungkot kasi hindi namin makikita si Song Jung Ki (Somewhat sad because we won't be able to see Song Jung Ki)"- Justine Joy Pacis, one of his fans.

While other feels devastated some think that enlisting for his mandatory service was a brave act "para sa akin nakakatuwa at ang tapang niya kasi yung iba ayaw at gumagawa ng paraan para hindi sila matuloy sa army (For me it is a good thing and he is courageous because others makes way to be excused )" from an avid fan Katrina Perfecto.

In South Korea, all eligible males between the ages of 18 and 35 must enroll for between 21 and 24 months of army service (the length of mandatory enrollment changes by several months depending on which branch of the military that they serve in) in a practice known as conscription.

Song Jung Ki's enlistment to the mandatory service is one big choice to make, most specially that he is in his peak of his career. Not all the Korean celebrities who came back after their military duty had the chance to go back to the entertainment world. But I believe that with the help of Song Jung Ki's fans and with his natural ability to charm every people, two years is too short for him to be forgotten and with his great acting skills, he'll be back with a bang!

A country’s government serves as the protector of its citizens, protection to all that attempts to abuse and bring anarchy into the nation against foreign countries.

Government people are the ones forming and implementing rules, regulations and programs that would help citizens to improve and live their life comfortably. But would the citizens really progress when the people who oath to help for the improvement does the opposite?

Recently, news about a huge scam involving big names from the congress spread throughout the country. Huge amount of money was involved saying that it was allotted to several non-government organizations for priority development projects of the Philippine government, mostly on the local level. These projects were in turn "implemented" through certain companies, with the projects producing no tangible output.

Confirmation in the Participation on the Implementation of Programs

Some of the expected projects were livelihood programs.

Livelihood programs are one of the means of securing the basic necessities of life such as food, water, shelter and clothing and every country has its own organizations and concerned persons to ensure that these necessities are met by the people.

The Implementation of these livelihood programs is one of the hopes of nation's people to rise from poverty and sickness and enjoy the right to comfortable living, but how can we rise and advance if we are abused by our own people? By our own leaders? The leaders whom we expect to get help from?

We must learn from these mistakes. Big things come from small things. This upcoming Barangay election, let’s not be dazed by a short amount of money for a short time mirth, let’s be more ambitious and think more of the future. Let’s choose the best fit for the privilege of being on the seat and help our country reach the peak.
